Two Women COs Imprisoned for Refusal to Enlist

CO Mia Tamarin, 19, from Tel-Aviv, and a recent graduate of the United World Colleges college in New Mexico, has been sentenced to 14 days in military prison on 28 Sept. Further terms of imprisonment might well follow after this one ends. Mia appealed to the military so-called Conscience Committee to be granted conscientious objector status, but was rejected; the Committee members were left “insufficiently convinced”.
